What Members Say
Real reviews from our members on Google, where we hold a 5.0 rating.
" Golden Jiu Jitsu has truly been the best. The coaching here is truly exceptional, thoughtful, clear, and grounded in both skill and patience. What impressed me just as much as the technical instruction was the quality of the community. "

" I've been training here for almost a year and a half, and this gym exceeded my expectations. It's a smaller gym with a supportive, fun, and welcoming atmosphere. "

" Can't recommend this gym enough if you're trying to learn jiu jitsu! I enjoy the game based structure of the classes which allows you to have a lot of fun while exploring common positions that you end up in during live rounds. "

Before You Come In
Do I need to be in shape first?
No. You don't get in shape first and then come to jiu jitsu. Jiu jitsu is how you get in shape. Show up as you are.
Is it safe?
It's a contact sport, so contact happens. That said, safety is taken seriously. You can stop any activity at any time. Tapping out is taught on day one as a normal part of training. Coaches watch intensity in the room and manage it. Nobody should leave hurt.
What do I bring?
Athletic shorts (no pockets, velcro, buttons, or zippers), a fitted t-shirt or rash guard, a water bottle, and slides or flip flops for walking off the mats. If you don't have gear, we have loaners. Trim your nails before you come.
What actually happens in the first class?
A coach meets you before class, shows you around, and walks you through the basics. You'll warm up with everyone else, then get paired with an experienced member who knows how to work with new people. You play the same games as the rest of the class, with adjustments for your level. Nobody is evaluating you. The only goal is for you to experience how we train and see if it's a fit.
Already train somewhere?
Book a free class: when the form asks if you've done jiu jitsu before, pick "Yes, I've been training a while" and the Intermediate classes show up (Intermediate is for people with about a year of training or more). Just visiting or cross-training? Open mat is free: Friday 5:30 PM no-gi and Saturday 10 AM gi, for anyone with six months of training. Text us at 303-578-0198 so we know you're coming. More on training here if you already train.
